Teacher Appreciation!

Teacher appreciation is this week for my kiddos. I saw a friend recently post a reminder that not only should we recognize the homeroom teachers, but those included in related arts such as, Library, PE, art, and computers.  I linked an inexpensive way to show appreciation to all of our teachers this year! These pens at Target were a dollar a piece, and the set of 12 notebooks were about a dollar a piece as well, totaling each teacher gift to $2.

Mother's Day Round-up

Mother's Day is next week! Do you already have the perfect 

gift for those motherly figures in your life? My mom is someone who would be perfectly happy with a homemade card from her grandkids. She never expresses a desire for much except her own kids' happiness. But that makes it a little hard to know what to buy her to show my appreciation. I've rounded up a list of some of my favorites I think my mom would love and listed them and why I love them below. Tell me, what is your perfect Mother's day gift?

1. Anker portable cell phone charger:

My husband bought me this portable charger a few years ago and I LOVE IT. Who else finds themselves driving in the car and then you realize your phone is about to die? This charger not only saves the day, but it charges your phone FAST! That was so important to me, because usually I just need a quick charge. I keep it in my purse and it always comes on vacation with us, so we never run out of battery at the wrong time.

2. Digital picture frame:

 We bought this digital picture frame for my in-laws last Christmas and it is awesome! If you have someone in your life, like my Mom, all they want is to see their children and grandchildren and visit them often. This will help for the times when they are apart. You can upload photos to the frame from anywhere using email or the app. It's a fun surprise to upload pictures at random times to the frame and put a smile on the grandparent's faces.

I don't personally own this wallet, but I have heard people rave about these Hobo wallets. They are very functional, and get the job done!

I'm pretty sure every one out there already has one of these, haha, but in case you are an exception, this is a must!!! These water bottles have changed my life. Every single member in our family has one and we all love them. This new pink color is so fun and I'm sure a mother out there would love a fun new color!

 I got an instant pot a couple of years ago, and I can tell you that it has saved me at dinner time on many occasions!!

6. Wood cutting board:

Cutting boards are always nice to have. And I've seen a lot lately that serve as a decoration behind the stove, on countertops, etc. This one is super inexpensive from World Market and a nice round design.

My husband has the Men's Sanuk sandals, and I'm pretty sure they are older than me. ;) He loves them and won't get new ones because he said his feet have molded nicely into these ones. The women's sandals are just alike. Very fashionable, perfect for the upcoming summer weather, and EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE.

My husband bought me a heated blanket from Target right after I had my 4th baby and it was so nice to have! When the nights go cold I just turned it on and snuggled up on the couch next to him. Perfect gift for those who like to cozy up on the couch at night.

LDS General Conference 2017

I made some activity sheets for my kids to use while they watch our October 2017 LDS General Conference.
I specifically wanted to focus on a few things: Watching, Listening, Writing, and Drawing. These are geared more toward older kids, but can definitely be adapted for younger kids as well. I have a 7, 5, & 3 year old and will be using these for all of them.

Through each of these the kiddos have a chance to earn a small treat such as skittles, m&m's, marshmallows, or something healthier, (e.i. nuts & raisins) if you're not into giving your kids a sugar over-load. ;) And at the end for each complete worksheet they can earn a small dollar store item from our reward bin such as, stickers, bubbles, small toy, chips, or more candy, of course.

First- I want them to listen closely to the speakers, you can find the attached file for that here: Listening Sheet
As they listen for specific words they can color the pictures associated with each word, fill in the bubbles as they listen, and enjoy a little treat as well!

Second- I want them to watch closely and see the speakers, to become familiar with their faces and names. You can find the attached files for that here: Watching Sheet

Third- I want them to be engaged and write things they hear (eventually when they are older take notes, but for now just simple words). You can find the attached file for that here: Writing Sheet

Fourth- I want them to review what they learned through art and draw a picture of the things they heard and felt, as well as draw a picture of their family... because "family is the center of life and the key to eternal happiness" -- L. Closing Up

Welcome back from all of the holidays! I hope it was a very merry time for everyone. I've been doing a little work on the blog. I put up a few new items (more to come) and I'm only taking CUSTOM ORDERS now for my ETSY shop. Summer Fun

Summer is coming so quickly! I realized this the other day when my brothers announced that they had finished their last college final and were out of school for the summer! LUCKY!

Summer is such a great time of year with so many activities like the Fourth of July and going to the pool. Summer is definitely my favorite time of the year!
